WOBS is partnered with multiple facilities, each contributing a revenue generating opportunity which provides a relevant venue for educating the public on the compelling need to support conservation. These venues include the State Fair of Texas, the Indianapolis Zoo, Minnesota Zoo, Rhode Island Zoo and Walt Disney World. WOBS also hosts professional trainer workshops that aid in the education of the public. Lastly, the Natural Encounters, Inc. Ranch facility, in which the animals owned by WOBS are housed, is open to the public on weekends. This availability to the public allows for both public education and an opportunity for WOBS to obtain donations.2.Strengthen WOBS's Financial Viability and Independence. WOBS began receiving revenues in 2018 through long-term contracts with Walt Disney World and the Indianapolis Zoo for use of its birds in educational performances. Participation in the State Fair of Texas commenced in 2019 starting the potential of generating donations from thousands of individuals on an annual basis. Weekly visitors to the Natural Encounters, Inc.'s Ranch facility and a planned Web site are also expected to generate increasing amounts of public donations. Another strategic initiative developed in 2020 is at least one crowdfunding campaign to generate more public donations to support our conservation effort. The various revenue generating activities have already improved WOBS' ability to become more financially and operationally independent by paying all of its animal medical bills, paying for the salary for its first full-time employee, and a higher percentage of its other operating expenses.3.Increase WOBS's Operational Capabilities. WOBS now has a full-time employee, who was hired once the ability to pay for that employee was confirmed. Having such an employee is essential to WOBS's ability to develop and execute the various new initiatives. The board of directors has also recently been restructured to add an executive from an aligned non-profit organization. In addition, WOBS is currently seeking an independent board member from the public sector. Given the progress made starting in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and continuing in 2022, WOBS is positioned to achieve its overall conservation objective and improve its public funding.
