Our goal is to provide an environment where each student feels safe, secure, loved, and respected. We seek to provide each child the opportunity to grow to their fullest potential, graduate from school, and become contributing members of society. We focus individual attention on the needs of each child with small class room sizes with typically 6-8 students in the class room. However, in the school year, Sep 2022 - May 2023, we had 12 students participate in the combined High School class with 1 student graduating at the end of the school year in May 2023. 952 0 975 The Williams School provides extra-curricular experiences to students with field trips through out the school year. The school also provides some outdoor activities, for example archery training. Students also participate in planning and executing fund raising activities, and other festivities during the school year. One example is the traditional Spring Prom dance. This variety of activities fit nicely into our mission goal stated previously. 1819 0 0 Teachers are provided with training opportunities to further their professional development and improve their skills. Additionally, the school is a member of the "Special Schools Coalition", which also publishes a blanket policy for all schools that are members of the coalistion. Last, but not least, the school publishes its policy on its website: www. the-williams-school.org. Form 990, Part III, Line 3 The Williams School paused operations in June, 2024 at the end of the 2023-2024 school year and will continue this pause for fiscal year August 2024 through July 2025. However, the school is maintaining its 501(c)(3) status and reserves the right to re-initiate regular services in future years. Non-graduating students enrolled at the school in 2023-2024 transferred their enrollment to other institutions for the 2024-2025 school year. Lisa Williams, head teacher and administrator at The Williams School, continues to privately tutor many students. Form 990, Part III, Line 4a Form 990, Part III, Line 4a - Extra precautions were taken on a daily basis to insure that all students continued to be safef from Covid-19, similar to past school years during the pandemic. All current CDC guidelines for school year Sep. 2022 - May 2023 were followed. Infected students or faculty/staff remained at home as per CDC guidelines prior to coming back to class. Deep sterile cleaning was conducted regularly through out the school year. All school faculty and staff were fully vaccinated. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b Form 990 review process: a copy of the filled out 990 form and required schedules is provided to each school board member for a review period. If necessary, corrections or edits are made in accordance with the review prior to final submission. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c All board members and employed school staff, including teachers and administrators, are required to review and sign a conflict of interest policy every year. The school board meets monthly through out the school year and reviews all potential actions that could be construed as a conflict of interest and take necessary action to correct those situations.
