Pt VI, Line 12c The Board reviews the Conflict of Interest policy annually to ensure compliance. All Board members are required to sign an annual statement regarding their understanding of said policy. No conflicts of interest exist at this time. Pt VI, Line 15a The salary of the Head of School is set by the non-family voting members of the Board of Directors. The reasonableness of the salary is determined by a review of comparable positions in the North Carolina Public School systems. The compensation paid by Hope Academy is substantially lower. Pt VI, Line 19 The governing documents are available upon request from the Head of School. Pt VI, Line 11b The Form 990 is prepared by an independent CPA. It is subsequently reviewed by the Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant sends a final version via email to the Executive Committee of the Board, Finance Chair (if not serving as Treasurer) and Head of School for discussion, review and approval. Once approved, the Form 990 is signed by the Board President and filed electronically by the CPA firm.
