ESCRI targets a 3 square mile area surrounding Eli Home's store and offices, a predominantly low income, densely populated, and high crime area. The environment can create stressors that may result in family violence. Now in its 13th year, ESCRI is a well-known community resource, part of its community. Individuals and families benefit from a wide range of free programs, including job training and placement, parent education, after school tutoring, food distribution, financial literacy, ESL training, citizenship classes, business training, and referral services. Staff coordinates events that engage and empower the community and create strong families. This year, more classes were held in person, rather than online.
