The caliber of musician that performs in this festival is not seen in Reno during any other time of the year. All members are part of the governing body. The Executive Committee shall supervise the operations of the RCO, approve expenditures and commitments according to rules prescribed by the Board of Directors, act for and carry out the established policies of the RCO as defined by the Board of Directors; review and approve the compensation of the Executive Director, RCO Music Director, and Artistic Director of the NCMF; and, after it has met, report its acts to the Board of Directors at the next meeting of the Board. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11b The board finance and executive committees first approve the Form 990 and then prior to filing the Form 990, a copy is provided to all members of the governing board for their review and comment. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12 The Reno Chamber Orchestra (RCO) does not have an official conflict of interest policy. However, in the RCO Board Members Commitments and Responsibilities document it is stated that if an RCO board member has a conflict of interest they should recuse themselves from any vote surrounding this issue. Board members are required to sign that they have read through the Members Commitments and Responsibilities, but we do not have an official policy currently in place. A policy will be adopted in the near future. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 15a Compensation of the Executive Director is determined by Board of Directors on an annual basis. Comparability data from the League of American Orchestras is employed and the deliberation process is documented in minutes of board meetings.
