There is a strict formula that the organization follows to determine who is eligible, how much they can receive from Cross Roads House and how to proceed with securing a landlord suitable to receive rental assistance tenants. This money comes to Cross Roads House from a HUD/State contract and the organization is required to bill the Permanent Supportive Housing Grant each month for the prior month's costs. X 7 57266 Stock Market Value 0 0 0 0 Form 990, Part III, Line 1 In 1982, Cross Roads House was established to meet the immediate needs of homeless individuals and families in the NH Seacoast area and to create pathways to affordable housing. We provide emergency and transitional shelter housing-focused case management and wrap around services at our location in Portsmouth. In 2016, to reduce recidivism and prevent eviction of those who moved to permanent housing, we began providing housing stability case management. This is an extension of our in-house case management and cares for 80+ households per year in the area. We also have a HUD-funded, tenant-based permanent supportive housing program that provides rental assistance and supportive services. To further support creating pathways to affordable housing, in 2022 we added a Housing Liaison to our team. This position connects with area landlords and property owners to address the challenges of placement into affordable housing in a highly priced and highly competitive rental housing market.
