To date, a total of 146 students from 20 IITs and 6 NITs have participated in the program with 74 provisional patent applications filed in India and the USA. In 2023 the program was conducted at 3 locations, IIT Bombay, IIT Gandhinagar and IIT Jammu. 30 student teams (59 students) from 12 IITS and 6 NITs participated in the program which resulted in 30 provisional patents filed both in the USA and India. The cost incurred for this programme was USD 204,912.57 in 2023. 61690 61690 Tinkerers Labs (TLs) - Tinkerers Labs are 24/7 student-managed academic makerspaces set up in partnership with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in India. In 2023, MBF supported the establishment of 2 new labs at Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai in Maharashtra and IIT Indore, Madhya Pradesh. In total there are 11 TLs that have been set up in India. The cost of setting up the facilities was USD 243,902 and out of which, we have disbursed USD 61,689.65 in 2023 to these 2 new TLs. 45000 45000 Learn Engineering by Activity Program (LEAP) This programme was launched in 2021 in partnership with IIT Madras to provide IIT-style, industry-oriented Project Based Learning courses to tier II & tier III engineering colleges in India. In 2023, LEAP courses were expanded by 6 colleges in the states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala with 1363 as student beneficiaries with 118 faculty trained and 41 projects worked on. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: Vishwakarma Award, was launched in 2022, as an annual nationwide thematic challenge to encourage talented student teams to build innovative, impactful, deployable prototypes rapidly. In the first edition in 2022, 120 teams with a total of 300 plus students, from across India participated in the field of Water and Sanitation. In the year 2023, 2 more tracks were added - Clean Technology and Smart Mobility. There were 115 applications received from 7 IITs, 4 NITs, 4 Universities, 18 Pvt colleges. Total of 21 teams were shortlisted for the grand finale. Two teams from each track were awarded best product design and most innovative solution titles. The total cost of this programme was USD 10,440 out of which USD 6,025 is the expenses of 2023 towards this programme.
