No cash or funds are passed directly to Advent Christian Retirement Communities. Grants provided to individuals are in the form of a deduction to rent. No cash is given directly to individuals. For the Minister Fund, applicants complete a form that we supply, asking financial information (to determine need) and the basis for eligibility (guidelines involve historic service to an entity in the denomination with which we're affiliated). Information is kept confidential. Determination is made by the Executive Director and submitted to the board for approval. The Rental Assistance program is similar, though eligibility is based only on financial need. Applicants complete and submit a RA form we provide, with documentation. Pre-determined income categories and subsidy amounts are maintained based on a budget we establish for the program. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11b The 990 is reviewed and approved by the Executive Director and Board of Director prior to filing. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c Directors and Officers have to sign an Annual Conflict of Interest statement. Enforcement is based on integrity for the board member to disclose any potential conflicts and abstain from decision making in those matters. At the end of board meetings, the board votes on adopting all ACRC policies to VCCH.
