In 2023, thanks to the generous support of our donors, Global Rights Advocacy (GRA) was able to make significant strides in our mission to protect and promote human rights around the world.March 2023 - Los Angeles: GRA took environmental defenders and families of those forcibly disappeared in Mexico to participate in the Inter-American Commission of Human Rights Session. Over three days, we engaged in both public and private hearings on critical cases, amplifying the voices of those fighting for justice. This led to important decisions and resolutions that advanced our cause.October 2023 - New York: Our team traveled to the United Nations in New York to attend meetings with Special Procedures of the UN. This vital engagement allowed us to bring international attention to pressing human rights issues and advocate for stronger protections and accountability measures. We reached high-level leaders not only within the UN but also from other influential countries, enhancing our impactNovember 2023 - Washington, D.C.: In November, GRA returned to the Inter-American Commission of Human Rights in Washington, D.C. We facilitated the participation of clients and lawyers from Mexico, enabling them to attend public and private hearings and meet with the State Department. This period of sessions was crucial in advancing the cases of those we represent and ensuring their voices are heard at the highest levels. We were able to secure significant resolutions and engage with key decision-makers from international organizations and influential nations. These travels were essential in our efforts to advocate for global rights and justice.
