It is a creative reuse store that accepts donations of material that might otherwise end up in the landfill. In turn, the store sells the used goods at a low cost to community members, including educators and artists. 0 0 281769 0 272176 The Idea Store Creative Reuse Center served 30,165 paying customers from our community in 2023 by providing low-cost traditional and non-traditional materials for arts, crafts, education, and other uses. All of our materials were donated by community members and local businesses and sold at 10-50% of retail value. Our store accepted 67,726 pounds of materials, or about 33.9 tons, in 2023. These items would have otherwise gone to the landfill. After the 2022 Form990 was filed, the 2019 Form990 was amended and this figure was revised to $5965 and is recorded here for tax year 2019. A short presentation by the Treasurer followed. Board members were encouraged to review the tax forms and to provide feedback at the August Board meeting. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 Salaries for Executive Director and other management staff are discussed, debated, and a consensus is reached at a regular Board meeting. Efforts are being made to make some of these materials available on our website. A family member of the Treasurer required major surgery in April with a lengthy healing and rehab period. This caused a delay which made it impossible for the Board to fully review the completed Form 990. Thus, the application for late submission was filed earlier this year.
