Each of these organizations is a 501c3 organization and has demonstrated that their programs match our goal of providing a better life for women and children. The Soroptimist Thrift Shop purchases all of the equipment that is loaned primarily using the donated funds that are received during the year. There is a large inventory of items available to be borrowed. Items can be kept by the individual as long as needed and then returned to the Shop. When returned the items are cleaned and returned to inventory so that they may be borrowed again in the future. 0 0 0 The Shop also has agreements with various non-profit organizations who give vouchers to individuals allowing them to shop in the store for needed goods. The vouchers are specific as to the amount that may be used and the items that may be purchased. The Shop processes these vouchers free of charge. It also runs a dress you for success that allows individuals who are seeking employment to find clothing that will allow them to go to an interview and or have work clothing to start a new job. Clients are referred to the Shop by other non-profit organizations. Periodically we ask for updated grant information to verify that our funds are used for the purpose given and to discuss new needs as they arise. Members have visited the sites in person to see how the organizations are run. Part VI, Line 6 There are 91 members of the organization with equal voting rights. There are no stock holders. Part VI, Line 7a Only members are allowed to elect or appoint officers or directors. Each member has an equal vote. Part VI, Line 11b The form 990 is completed by the Finance Committee chair. It is shared with the Board president who then shares it with the Board. The 990 is presented and discussed at the next business meeting with the membership. The president signs the 990 and then it is filed. Part VI, Line 19 The governing documents financial statements and Form 990 are stored in the office that is located at the Thrift Shop. Viewing is available during the times that the thrift store is open and staffed. Either a board member of the treasurer will make documents available to anyone who requests. There were no requests for the year.
