The lesson plans are then reviewed and approved by our curriculum administrator. Our school purchases various curriculum and materials for all of our grades, PreK-10th grade. Each grade needs various items for each subject being taught. The varying curriculum needed expands and increases with each growing year. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 2 Our current governing body is made up of 9 member. This consists of 4 married couples and one single adult female. Ashlee and Richard Tyler Hardy, Lauri and Richard Ray Evans, Greg and Jenny Burtin, Jay and Sarah Griffin and then Alex Donaldson. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 8b Our organization currently does not have separate committees, therefore there are no meeting minutes to document in regard to the committees. We only have our small governing body at this time. Our meetings of importance are kept current by our governing body and Treasurer. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b This form was created and filled out by our Financial Administrator, Danielle Adair. Once it is completed it is reviewed by her supervisor, Lauri Evans, who is a certified CPA and is on staff as our Head of School. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 Employee compensation is determined by our governing body by researching our cities compensation of teachers and then adjusting it based on the number of hours spent on campus and then time spent away. Compensation and any increases in pay are given based on a chart comprised of experiences and years worked. It is then final approved by our governing body. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 All of our governing documents are accessible to the public or any other interested person upon request. Form 990, Part VIII, Line 2a - 2e Line 2a: The revenue received is comprised of tuition and fees for each student attending Oakwell Academy. This money is used solely for the services of their education. Form 990, Part IX, Line 11g These expenses include background checks of employees and contract laborers. Also included is compensation to various contract workers such as substitute teachers. Form 990, Part X, Line 10c This represents the depreciation in regards to our Portable Buildings. The amount reported for the 2022 filing is our first year that the portables were used therefore is our first year with a recordable depreciation. Form 990, Part XI, Line 8 We made a $747.00 adjustment from the prior year due to an accounting transition. We transitioned to QuickBooks online during 2023 and with that came the need for a $747.00 adjustment due to need a migration holding tank from reconciliation cleanups. We transitioned our accounting books from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online in 2023. It has taken a significant amount of time to make the transition and to ensure that all of our accounts were transferred and set up correctly. We filed Form 8868 and were approved for an automatic 6 month extension with our new filing deadline being 5/15/24.
