<MissionDesc>Motivated by the inherent worth of each individual and our great care for the people of Haiti, the Saint Rock Haiti Foundation works side by side with the people of Saint Rock and the surrounding rural communities to enhance their lives through providing quality primary health care; helping children and young adults access valuable education opportunities; instituting community outreach programs that support economic sustainability; investing in infrastructure to support overall health; and empowering members of the community to advocate for their rights in the future. We recognize that through our ongoing collaboration with the Haitian government and non-governmental organizations, we will support the shared goal of greater self-sufficiency. Our vision: the vision of the Saint Rock Haiti Foundation is a community in which each person can thrive in all aspects of life and create similar opportunities for other Haitians to thrive.</MissionDesc>

<Desc>Haiti is facing increasing challenges due to gang violence and political instability. In the midst of all that, SRHF continues to keep two health centers open to serve 75,000 registered patients. A second ultrasound machine, delivered in July 2022 from the Dalton Foundation, allows our doctors and nurses to expand access to pregnant women and provide better prenatal care. Through a partnership with the Haiti Nursing Foundation, SRHF hired a nurse Practitioner/Mid-wife in May to enhance our maternal child health program. A grant from the Catholic Health Foundation will allow us to retrofit space at the Macaco Centre de Sant for new lab equipment and SRHF hired a new lab technician as part of their post-education social service year with SRHF.(Continued on Schedule O)Education continues to be a significant program at the primary and university/vocational school level. SRHF paid the salaries of 49 teachers and administrators at four primary schools, one more than the previous fiscal year. The university and vocational program offered post-secondary education to 35 University students and 39 Vocational students. More than 50% of the students in both University and Vocational programs are female. Another partnership with Turner Construction and Marguiles Peruzzi Architects created plans to rebuild the ICGS school which operates under a tin roof with tarp walls. Construction will begin in the Fall of 2023. After being absent from the country for 3 years, cholera made a resurgence in Haiti. With a grant from Americares, SRHF resurrected and repaired hand washing stations from the Covid-19 outbreak, created a preventative education program delivered by SRHF community health workers, and was able to mitigate the spread and prevent any deaths from cholera in the SRHF patient catchment area.</Desc>

<ExplanationTxt>The Foundation is exempt from federal and state income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Accordingly, there is no provision for income taxes within the financial statements. However, income from activities not directly related to the Foundation's tax-exempt purpose would be subject to taxation as unrelated business income. Tax-exempt organizations could be required to record an obligation for income taxes as the result of a tax position they have historically taken on various tax exposure items, including unrelated business income or tax status. In accordance with U.S. GAAP, assets and liabilities are established for uncertain tax positions taken or positions expected to be taken in income tax returns when such positions are judged to not meet the "more-likely-than-not" threshold, based upon the technical merits of the position. The Foundation has evaluated the positions taken on its filed tax returns and has concluded no uncertain income tax positions exist at June 30, 2023.</ExplanationTxt>

<ExplanationTxt>Saint Rock Haiti Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to enhancing and promoting care for the people of Haiti. The Foundation works side by side with the people of Saint Rock and the surrounding rural communities to enhance their lives through: - Providing quality primary health care. - Helping children and young adults access valuable educational opportunities. - Instituting community outreach programs that support economic sustainability. - Investing in infrastructure to support overall health; and - Empowering members of the community to advocate for their rights in the future. Given the nature of the Foundation's operations, it is difficult to gauge exactly how many individuals received benefits or services from the Foundation's money transfers into Haiti. However, based on the Organization's best estimates and the information, the Foundation measures that: - Approximately seventy-eight young adults received funding from the Foundation to pursue higher education. - Approximately 70,000 registered patients have received improved access to healthcare through Saint Rock Haiti Foundation's efforts. - Approximately fifty-four people on the ground in Haiti operating out of two healthcare clinics earn or supplement their income from funds source from the Foundation. These individuals provide needed and valuable direct health and care services to their communities. - The Foundation funds a mobile clinic that allows entire rural communities to access to health services that would otherwise be unattainable. - The Foundation has assisted in the funding and construction of schools in Haiti that allow dozens of children to access educational services and resources. - Water assistance and infrastructure projects have given communities access to clean drinking water that was previously unavailable. - Food and agricultural relief programs have given dozens of people access to meals who would otherwise been at risk of malnutrition. - Microfinance and development initiatives boost local Haitians ability to support themselves and their communities independent on the Foundation or other third-party outside parties. In total, the Organization made expenditures over $482,000 towards program services in Haiti during its year ending June 2023. Of this total, $99,295 was for direct grants paid to Haitian individuals or to Haitian schools. Aside from transfers to Haitian bank accounts that are necessary for the Foundation to conduct its program services, the Foundation does not otherwise hold any interests in foreign corporations, partnerships, or business interests. Accordingly, all questions on this Schedule F, Part IV have been answered "no".</ExplanationTxt>
