Since that time, the society has grown its endowment through its active solicitation efforts from its members, the community and the general public. The society maintains its active solicitation efforts each year, however, over time the growing endowment has led to investment income that has outpaced the amount of contributions coming in from donations. Given the nature of the funding sources of the endowment, the income should be considered as funded by the public. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11b The Society has its Form 990 prepared by an outside accounting firm and has established the following review process to ensure that the information reported is complete and accurate. After review by the audit committee and management and the return is ready to be filed a copy is provided to the governing body for comments. Any comments or questions are submitted to the accounting firm for a response. The Form 990 is then finalized and approved for filing.
