Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c The governing board reviews the conflict of interest policy. When new board members are accepted to the board, they are given the policy. The board chair is responsible for scheduling the review of the conflict of interest policy. As Executive Director, I have conducted an annual review of several organizations who are similar in size and budget to BAPLAN to assess their compensation and benefits. I do this usually in November/December as we undergo the renewal for benefits offered at BAPLAN. We have a salary schedule that the board also reviews. Over the last two years, we have lacked adjusting our staff for COLA's due to uncertainty with renewals of core operating grants. Now that those grants are renewed or renewing, we have more ability to plan for COLA's. Our wellness benefits were also compared to the following organizations: Coleman Advocates, Acta Non Verba, Oakland Rising to identify different options for our staff using a specific time period grant and the processing of our IRS Employee Retention Tax Credit.
