The CEO, James Ringland, was appointed by the San Francisco Bay Chapter of the Sierra Club (to support the Sierra Club foundation via the Birds of Prey Reserve Foundation). There has been annual contact with the chair of the East Bay Lands subcommittee of the Chapter, basically to report that the "waiting" status is continuing, to report that the foundation is being formally maintained for when quarry operation begin, and to document filing status. The treasurer, Pat Gordon, was appointed by the Ohlone Audubon Society and is on their board. Our founding document calls out three directors, one appointed by each of three organizations. There has been some contact with staff on that third organization, the East Bay Regional Park District, but currently that third position is vacant. Schedule A, Part IV, Section B, Line 2 The foundation also operates for the benefit of the East Bay Regional Park District. They would appoint a third director. Again, because the foundation is essentially in waiting status, we did not fill this position when a vacancy occurred. At the time of the vacancy -- several years ago -- we concluded that filling that position wasn't really necessary as long as the foundation remained only minimally active. This, of course, will not be appropriate one quarry mitigation funds begin to come in. We have had some, but fairly limited, contact with park district staff about this situation.
