This week commemorates the valuable contributions made by farmers to society by providing an abundant supply of nutritious food. Farm Bureau educates the public on the number of locally grown produce which can be afforded on a limited budget. Line 29) Showing an animal in the County Fair fosters responsibility, organizational skills, leadership skills and sportsmanship. Bradford County Farm Bureau strongly encourages the development of these skills in our youth by sponsoring the livestock program at the fair. Line 30) Through the Farm-City Week, Bradford County highlights the positive impact agriculture has made in the local economy and the importance of agriculture in our community to support and provide jobs. We visited 3rd grade classrooms throughout the county to educate students on the importance of agriculture.
