Program name: "Protecting Women from Cervical Cancer in the Republic of Ghana". Our Club, along wih the Rotary Club of Accra East (Africa), led this $70,000 international service project to purchase 50 cervical cancer thermal ablation treatment devices for deployment in unserved and underserved areas in the Republic of Ghana, Africa. Cervical cancer is the leading cause of cancer death among African women. The purchase and deployment of these devices will enabled more than 2,500 women per year to be screened and treated for cervical cancer. In addition to donations from the two lead Rotary Clubs, the project was funded by donations from other area Rotary Clubs with matching grants from The Rotary Foundation and Rotary District 6250. 7792 7792 Program name: "Scholarships Awarded".
