A cohort of 7 youth researchers conducted 508 interviews across the city of Austin to better understand their peers' experiences with policing in schools and mental health. Utilizing the findings from the research the cohort of youth produced an interactive community showcase including a call to action for Austin Independent School District and surrounding independent school districts. Youth Rise Texas also hosted a multi-generational community learning series on policing and mass incarceration. The learning series included listening sessions, popular education, and community circles. All youth members are eligible for assistance, and are required to participate in financial management education when receiving financial assistance from YRTX.
