Increase pulic awareness, knowledge, and scientific understanding; use that information to improve conditions. Promote diverse and self-sustaining populations of native plants, habitats, wildlife, and fish. Improve water quality, assure adequate freshwater flow in creeks, and promote responsible flood management. Habitat Restoration: This work includes removal of weeds, planing native plants, and on-going maintenance of several project in our watershed. These include implementation of the Invasive Spartina Project, continued work at three projects started in the 1990s, and two projects at Hal Brown Park in Kentfield. 0 11013 Public Outreach: We publish a newsletter twice a year with a circulation of about 4,000 copies, maintain a website, and write comment letters about project in our watershed. In 2023 we held two bioblitz events, completed updating our brochure, and funded an environmental education program for children. 0 12298 Engineering: This included finalizing the $100% designs and specifications for a project to lower concrete walls along Corte Madera Creek. Most of the work was done in 2022; reimbursement was received in 2023. We continue to work in support of replacing teh Saunders Avenue Bridge, a major barrier to steelhead mirgration. 0 4128 Water Quality Monitoring: We maintain temperature loggers in Ross Creek and measure DO periodically.
