World-class performers, many of which have won prestigious prizes in competitions, come to Corvallis from other countries as well as the USA. We select groups offering a wide repertoire of pieces (traditional and innovative) and composers so our local audiences can experience a variety of instrumental combinations througout the season. For the season of 2020-2021, we presented five concerts: the Baltimore Consort (USA), Fandango! (USA), Arcis Saxophone Quartet (Germany), Kim-Choi Duo (from Engene, OR, who substituted for the Valencia Baryton Project), and Cuarteto Latinoamericano (Mexico). Due to ongoing pandemic precautions, our venue (First Presbyterian Church) limited our audiences to a maximum of 92 for the first 3 concerts and 100 for the last two.Normally we arrange for performers to visit local schools to provide deminstrations, coaching, and encouragement to young musicians. Again, because of pandemic precautions, we were unable to have the performers visit the schools.To promote the concerts, we use a variety of publicity methods, including underwriting spots on 2 classical radio statons in Eugene and Portland, ads in the student center of the local university, ads in the other classical music programs, local art event calendars, local theaters, and features in the local newspapaer. To facilitate purchase of concert tickets, we offer the use of credit card sales online and at the door, as well as cash and check purchases at the door and from a local bookstore. We offer discounted tickets to parents of attending K-12 grade students, music teachers, people who qualify for food benefits, as well as free tickets for K-12 and local university students. For this reason, our average total attendance has been 82 and average paying audience 75.
