Through the game of golf, individuals with disabilities become actively engaged in the social fabric of a community, and derive health benefits that improve quality of life. The Alliance asserts that all individuals are entitled to play the game of golf regardless of their ability, socio-economic condition or experience. Information about the benefits of golf for persons with disabilities and the Golf Industry must be constantly shared with the Media, Public, Health, Rehabiliation, Recreation and Golf Professionals. 0 0 65582 30000 0 Founded in 2001 as an industry education and resource center focused on increasing participation, access and inclusion of individuals with disabilities in the game of golf and, with generous support from the United States Golf Association and other leading industry associations and therepeutic organizations, the Alliance has been distributing grants to support grassroots programs since 2010.The Alliance offers an annual grant application window between June 1 - 30 each year. Applications are reviewed in July with grants being distributed in early August.The Alliance seeks to support programs with a plan to move towards self-sustainability through local and regional funding support contributing to accessible and inclusive opportunities for individuals with disabilities to participate in the game of golf. Programs with inclusive elements that get individuals engaged with the surrounding community are a primary focus.Grants are processed and reviewed by our Executive Director and Grant Consultant. If any clarifications to your application are required, you will be contacted. Applications are then provided to the National Alliance Grant Review Committee who will make a decision regarding your grant. The Grant Review Committee is composed of numerous Alliance Board members representing industry leaders from around the country across a range of golf industry disciplines and organizations. The review process is highly objective. Part I, Line 2: Initial application for National Alliance Grant Program is reviewed by Gary Robb, National Alliance Grant Coordinator/Consultant. The National Alliance for Accessible Golf is particularly interested in applications that demonstrate focus on inclusion of people with disabilities in programs that involve those without disabilities with the ultimate goal of enhancing their inclusion into the fabric of their community. Once the Coordinator reviews the application according to the Grant Guidelines, the applications are reviewed by the Executive Committee of the National Alliance for Accessible Golf -- Again, to make sure the program application meets the General Guidelines and criteria for funding and to agree upon level of funding, if any. The Grant Guidelines (http://www.accessgolf.org/grants/program_grant_application_guidelines.pdf) are used to determine eligibility and selection criteria. The actual amount of funding is determined by the Executive Committee (7), Gary Robb and the Managing Director. The activities of the Executive Director, however, were not reduced for the year. It was determined that Stephen Jubb's in-kind, non-cash, contribution of time to be valued at $13,333 for the portion of the year he provided services. (a) Grant Consulting Services: Renumeration $ 5,100 In-Kind $ 4,800 Grant Consulting Services provided over and above the amount paid Outside Consultant Gary Robb is valued at $4,800 as an in-kind, non-cash, contribution. (c) Accounting Fees: Renumeration $ 1,000 In-Kind $ 2,500 The accounting function has been outsourced to volunteer and former Board Member, Mitchell L. Stump, CPA, who has calcluated his in-kind, non-cash, contribution to be valued at $2,500 annually.
